Valentine's Day Roses and Their Meanings

For new love, for instance, in which you haven't precisely gotten to the 'romantic' parts yet because the relationship is very fresh, the color of option is often purple. Purple gives the meaning of love and signifies (in Western culture) that the giver has fallen promptly in love with the recipient.

Not quite even that far in your relationship, but hoping to get it there? Then you'll want to give coral, orange, or apricot roses instead. These denote desire and enthusiasm for the recipient. These colors tell the other man that you're concerned and hoping to come to be more than just acquaintances.

Another beloved rose has yellow petals. This color is a near-universal color of friendship and tells the other person, perhaps your colleague or close friend, that you value their friendship and hope them all the joy it can bring. These are often the second-most beloved Valentine's Day roses given.

Shades of pink can have discrete meanings as well, commonly meaning gratitude or appreciation. Very light pink often means sympathy, if the context (say a hospital visit or new loss of a loved one) is there. Other beloved gratitude and condolement color compound is peach, though these are not as ordinarily found.

Of course, the next-most beloved color for Valentine's Day roses is white. This is a beloved funeral color as well as a good color for solemn occasions or those that wish to carry reverence and humility. Mixed with other colors, white can originate a deeper meaning to complement that of the other colors complex - especially with coral, orange, and yellow bouquets.

Finally, we come to black roses. These are a relatively new phenomenon in flower-giving, signifying a lot of things, depending on who's receiving them. They're linked with vengeance and death, but can also mean rebirth. They are beloved in the Goth culture that's sprung up in the past few years and can also mean love and more amongst those in that group. Most black roses are precisely very deep purple or are painted black, since no actual black petal roses exists.

Whatever your presume for giving flowers and roses, the above recipe will give you an idea of how to mix and match (or go mono-color) with your bouquet to carry the right meaning. Most of the time, of course, this will be lost on men, but for women, it's highly significant.
